"You'll be amazed at what you can find in Mytholmroyd"

Press release - MORE THAN YOU THINK...

How many times have you driven through Mytholmroyd and not bothered to stop because you thought there was nothing to be had? And more to the point no where to park! Well, it is time to look again - there's more than you think.

This week sees the launch of the "You'll be amazed what you can find in Mytholmroyd" cotton bag, which is just the job for repeat shopping. Funded by Calderdale Council under the banner of the Totally Locally campaign, which aims to promote local shopping within Calderdale, the bag was commissioned by Mytholmroyd's local Regeneration Partnership Royd Regeneration, and supplied by Packaging World Ltd based in Sowerby Bridge. The bag lists 34 businesses in the centre of the Mytholmroyd who provide a unique, warm and friendly service.

The bag was the brainchild of Royd Regeneration Secretary Jade Smith, who said "One of the aims of Royd Regeneration is to economically regenerate Mytholmroyd and this is a simple and effective way to go about it. Most people are unaware of the hidden gems in the village and it is time they found out." Said Amanda Byrne, Calderdale Council's Portfolio Holder for Economy and Environment, "Mytholmroyd is an up and coming village with many more shopping opportunities than you would think."

The Mayor of Hebden Royd John Beacroft Mitchell said "Where else in Calderdale can you find an accountant, an estate agent, a clog shop, eat out, get your hair cut and buy a bike - all in one place? It is an excellent idea Royd Regeneration has found to promote business in this under rated part of the Calder Valley." "Not only will you be amazed what you can find in Mytholmroyd, said Lib Dem Councillor Christine Bampton Smith, you can always find free parking..."

These bags are a unique opportunity and exclusively available in Mytholmroyd from Thursday 26th November. They can be picked up for a 1 from most shops and businesses throughout the village.
