Appeal from Mytholmroyd Retained Fire Service, Mytholmroyd, posted 26th November 2005

Dear Mytholmroyd resident

We are writing to you in regards to the closure of the Mytholmroyd Fire Station.

The West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service has decided that possibly in the April of 2006 you are to lose your fire station. As this is your fire station, we the members of the retained fire service here at Mytholmroyd, need your help to try and prevent this from happening.

As the serving members of the fire service here at Mytholmroyd, our voice here alone is not enough to make an impact on the fire authority perusing this closure, so we ask for your help.

You may have recently seen the petition to gain signatures for this, but we need the letters now to follow to make the impact needed.

This is YOUR fire station, YOUR homes that need protecting and we need to be here to be able to do that.

Please complete the attached letter and complete the required fields (name and address)

We need these letters to be sent to Public Relations Officer, Fire Service HQ Oakroyd Hall, Bickenshaw, Bradford BD11 2DY by no later than 2nd December for the voice to be counted.

As told earlier this is yours and our fire station, lets keep it that way, here in Mytholmroyd.

Members of the Mytholmroyd Retained fire service.

Please detach the draft letter below and post as soon as possible

To: Public Relations Officer, Fire Service HQ Oakroyd Hall, Bickenshaw, Bradford BD11 2DY

I (Your name and address)..............................................................

wish you to consider my views against the possible closure of Mytholmroyd Fire Station..

I see this as extremely detrimental to the village, and see a great need to keep the station open.
