New Health Centre nears completion Posted 31st July 2004
The new Health Centre for Mytholmroyd was said to be opening on Monday 2nd August. Rumour has it there may be another week to go before it is ready, but it will be worth the wait. Picture here shows the entrance. There is a paved area on the grass in the middle where the War Memorial statue will sit when it is moved back from it's present situation. The statue is to be cleaned up at a cost of £15,000 to the developers, will be floodlit and protected by a wrought iron fence and security camera.
Here is a sneak preview of the inside of the well-lit spacious reception area complete with brightly painted cheerful childrens' wall. There will be an NHS dentist, optician and pharmacy. It is hoped that physiotherapy will be available as well as chronic disease management, chiropody and counselling. Some services will be moved from Hebden Bridge.
