Forever Young concert at St Michael's Church Hall Sunday 20th July
The songs and music of Tom Paxton, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Ralph McTell and other well known folk singers filled the St. Michael's Church hall on Sunday evening when Albie Harrop, Martin Parrott and Hal Clarkson known as "Forever Young" entertained a very appreciative capacity audience with the playing of their guitars and the singing of folk songs and other popular numbers. Martin & Hal also sang and played some of their own compositions from their recently produced cds.
This concert, organised by The St. Michael's Wives Group was in memory of one of its late members Jane Osborne who passed away in April after a long battle with cancer. The proceeds from the concert will be donated to Macmillan Nurses. Albie, Martin and Hal, along with their capable sound engineer Des O'Connor, very kindly gave their valuable time free of charge to help the cause.
The music and singing was superb and the atmosphere in the hall was electric. How fortunate we are to have such talent here in the Calder Valley. As one member of the audience proclaimed "You don't have to travel too far from home to be wonderfully entertained".
Listening to "Forever Young" last night I couldn't agree more!!
